I Love Zombies T-Shirt from Bite Mark Clothing

Written on August 29th, 2009 by Red Hawkone shout

Sometime back, I was asked by Elaine Blakely, owner and founder of Bite Mark Clothing, if I wanted to review one of the t-shirts that she sells.  I agreed to, and after a couple of mixups (including me forgetting to include my size when I gave my address), I got the shirt she sent me.  This, now, is the article that should’ve been written a while back but was still delayed due to several difficulties.  But, you didn’t come to read about the problems I had, you came to read about the shirt!

The ominous-looking package!

When I received the shirt in the mail, it came in this stylized packaging.  I love the look of the blood smears over the biohazard symbol.  Also, according to the letter Miss Blakely sent with the shirt, the blood smears are all hand created, so no two smears are the same, a really great personal touch, I thought.  Underneath the smears, around the biohazard symbol, reads "Warning: Contains Survival Apparel From An Outbreak Of The Undead", another nice touch.

More ominousness!

In this pic, you see the packaging again, as well as the letter she sent with it and the shirt itself, wrapped in red tissue paper for even more themed work.  As you can see, Miss Blakely really goes all out to provide a good experience for her customers.  Also included on the letter is directions on what to do once you get the shirt.

Shirt and stickers!

Here, you see the shirt itself and some other stuff that came in the package with it.  I like the design of the shirt, and have gotten quite a few compliments on it, as well, when I wear it.  Each shirt is numbered, also, in a limited run.  The shirt I received was number 152 out of 250.  Also included with my shirt was a set of stickers and a little card that advertised the other shirts in this run, which you can find at the Bite Mark Clothing website.

A zombie wearing the shirt!

I can hear you saying, "Yes, Mark, but how does it wear?"  I can gladly say that it wears well, and fits nicely.  The shirt has made it into my regular rotation and I’m glad to have it.  I want to give a big thank you to Miss Elaine Blakely for sending me the shirt and having faith in me to get it reviewed.  If you want to check out this shirt or others in her clothing line you can click on this name: http://www.bitemarkclothing.com or you can click on the side under Our Friends for it.  And so, thanks for your time, and this is Red Hawk signing out!

Costume Closet #1

Here’s a new feature I’ll have periodically for the month, where I look at some of the best (and worst) costumes that are out on the market now. As a Garden Cashier at Wal-Mart, I get to help straighten out the costumes, and I get a good look at some of them, and let’s just say, it amazes me what they think some people will buy (and, believe it or not, what they DO buy). So, without further ado, let’s get this started with some of the worst costumes I’ve seen!

Boy's Woopie Cushion Costume

Woopie Cushion: Ai-yi-yi. This is what, in my opinion, gets kids beat up at school. I mean, what kid comes up to his mom and says, "Hey, Mom, you know what would be a cool costume? A woopie cushion!" What’s worse, when looking for the picture of this, I saw adult versions of it, too.

Adult Woopie Cushion Costume

I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing that, I’m sorry. But, hey, if you have a daughter and want to match your son up, here you go:

Girl's Woopie Cushion Costume
Donkey Costume

Donkey: This costume gets my award for Most Unfortunate Head Hole Placement. Available from Spirit Halloween, if you really want to get it, again, I just can’t picture someone wanting to have their head coming out of a donkey’s rear end.

Fat Dracula Costume

Fat Drac: We had these costumes last year… there were three of them, Fat Dracula, Fat Superman and Fat Batman. These costumes actually make me laugh quite a bit… but they’re still not that good.

Winged Grim Reaper Costume

I want to close with a costume that I like a lot. I bought it last year, and it worked out really well, I really enjoyed the wings on it. I even walked over to another friend’s house to show it at night (which was an experience in itself, what with the black mesh over the eyeholes).

I hope that everyone enjoyed the costume closet. Look for another, regular article coming tomorrow from Happy Horror. In the meantime, take care, and as always, until next time, this is Red Hawk signing out!

Ben From Fright Rags Starts a Video Blog!

Written on May 6th, 2008 by GlowStormLionone shout

When I’m trying to distract myself in the midst of writing a review I like to cruise the web. Sometimes I find good stuff, other times I find great stuff. This video is one of those great finds!

If you love horror enough to wear it, Fright Rags has precisely what you’re looking for. While I’m currently a bit too poor to order one (my next paycheck’s dedicated solely to promoting Happy Horror – and maybe scoring some blow picking up a couple DVDs), I think they’ve got some wickedly epic designs. Once I get my greedy lil paws on one, I do promise to pose in pictorial form and post it up right here on the site. I say that because I really would like to see more fan pics *wearing* the Fright Rags product!

Anyways, the deal is this: Ben, the Fright Rags go-to-guy decided to test pilot a video blog where he not only offers a hell of a sale, but offers to take fan questions and answer them in the next video! I’m behind that 100% and I’ll be sending in a question of my own, but I wanted to post his video to not only encourage more of this kind of interaction in the horror fan community, but to encourage our loyal Happy Horror visitors to maybe shoot him a question, too!

Enough of my babbling, though, let’s let Ben do some talkin’!
